Turfgrass Scouting Report: November 22, 2020

It definitely feels like winter now that all the leaves are down. I know most will be saying goodbye to the crews for winter and irrigation systems will be going to bed for the winter. The last thing I’m sure on everyone's mind is the ever faithful snow mold application. I just wanted to touch base and give an update on the Three-Hole Sunshine Course renovations.

Happy Thanksgiving !!

I think I speak for everyone when I say we’re looking forward to putting 2020 behind us. But, with that said we’ve had a really productive year here at the Three-Hole Sunshine course. Hopefully the steps we’ve took this year will set the facility up for decades to come.

Although were not deep into winter yet, I still say when the leaves are gone it feels more like it!! I had a few warm days last week and it’s meant to warm up again.

Three-Hole Sunshine Course renovation update

The course is looking really good, the improvements we’ve made this season I think will impact the property at Midwest Golf House as a whole for years to come.

The purpose of this scouting report is to share some pictures of the course before the snow comes for anyone that’s interested.

The above image was taken from standing on the area of the old artificial putting green, we’ve added the new chipping area.

The CDGA Turfgrass Program would like to thank Chris Flick and the Cog Hill crew for the work and effort put into the Three-Hole Sunshine Course. It does not go unnoticed.

I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving !!!!

Please don’t hesitate to call or email and I’ll ensure you get a rapid response.
